Schools Network – Background

We work closely with Active Schools Edinburgh to develop mutually beneficial relationships with 6 local high schools.

We provide coaches for after school clubs in exchange for court practice time for some of our squads.

We also provide coach and officials training for pupils alongside schools team coaching support.

We work with our local primary schools to provide weekly basketball (Sciennes and Tollcross) and termly tournaments (Royal Mile, Preston Street, Bruntsfield and Canaan Lane).

By providing a pathway for young people wanting to play more and at a higher level we compliment schools basketball with the opportunity to join our club.

Our ongoing work with schools is vital to growing interest and participation in basketball - and our relationships with them are key to working in partnership to ”give basketball a bounce”.
